runners log (actually a slow jog) 01
A few years ago I had trained and run a half marathon through a horrible winter and basically the entire half marathon was in mud. I was injured already from running on ice and through snow for the months leading up to the half, so I was very injured when I finished.
Fast forward to leaving my job at KU and opening the studio, I had no time to run. And then when we went virtual I started running some, and wasn’t taking proper time to stretch and ended up injured again.
And then right before I had Covid, when I was in the middle of closing the virtual studio and working as much as I could for the library, I began again. And then I got Covid. Months later, this morning, in 28 °F, I went for my first run/jog. And I saw two deer and watched the birds silently sore and am so grateful. And I came home and stretched. I went 2.4 miles and I am going again in the morning. I’ll let you know how it goes.
